You are invited to join the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild inCelebrating International Women’s Day with a discussion on Progressive Women in the Law. Attorney Shelby Sullivan-Bennis is active with the NLG Connecticut Chapter and works on abuses in counter-terrorism, representing prisoners in Guantánamo Bay and the victims of U.S. drone strikes outside of war zones. She has previously worked with the legal team for Nazih al Raghie (“Anas al-Liby”), a Libyan national extra-judicially rendered to the United States to stand trial. She has also worked with the Legal Aid Society in the Queens County Criminal Court and at Creating Law Enforcement Accountability And Responsibility (‘CLEAR’).
